Service Description

Looking to dip your toes into the world of performance within a safe & nurturing space? Weave movement, costume, concept, music, tech, confidence, character, & dreams together to design your own art and SLAY THE STAGE: a 6-week container to create and work within a supportive environment focused on authentic, empowered performance! With Gaea as your creatrix instructor, you'll receive tutelage & nurturing from a seasoned showgirl with over three decades of experience teaching, touring, performing, and competing. Components include: • discuss HOW to weave your dream into reality • practice confidence & character development • play with choreography & improvisation • transform the mundane to the sacred with performance as ritual • develop YOUR authentic artistic expression • empower a deep sense of connectivity between dancer/artist and audience • seek musicality & emoting • layer your 'tricks' into a rhythm wave with impactful peaks • share constructive feedback • offer costuming suggestions Through discussion, movement & meditation, and activity, we will investigate what intentional performance means in concept and reality for each individual. Students will leave with a deeper understanding of how to create intention in their performances and everyday lives. All are welcomed. NEWBIES? let's make your first act SLAY BETWEENS? let's advance your process so you SHINE. PROS? let's polish some real big magic, together. Slay the Stage series runs for six consecutive Tuesdays, from 7:30-9:30pm, beginning Tuesday, June 17th. Participant should plan to attend all of the sessions; series cost is $333. Slay the Stage culminates with your solo performance piece, which will debut for Fly Club's cabaret, Den of Debauchery. Show date is set for Thursday, July 24th. The performance is optional, but highly encouraged! This speakeasy event will include vendors & party vibes, fostering a nurturing & laidback environment in which newbie performers can ease their way into feeling comfortable on stage.

Cancellation Policy

For cancellations, please notify us within 6 hours to avoid being charged a $20 late cancel/no-show fee. Open Studio $10 late cancel/no-show fee. Private lessons require a $50 non-refundable deposit. All purchases are non-refundable, but may be transferred when provided with a minimum of 6 hour notice.
